Last month, I had the pleasure of learning about the Preferred Hotel Group at a lunch that they sponsored at the Trump International Hotel & Tower. As an ?information junkie?, I really appreciate the way that they make it easy for parent to search age-appropriate family-friendly (primarily independent) hotels across the world.
The facts that you can book your hotel and get various specials through the Preferred Family site are not what make the site unique. Rather, it is their hotel certification program that impressed me. Basically, their representatives visit each hotel and qualify it for certification based on age group, activities and amenities. ?(Currently, there are approximately 150 participating luxury hotels that have received certification.) When you choose a hotel to learn more about, not only do you get a brief description, but you also get a detailed pdf of the hotel. Along with a detailed overview, the pdf shares details about the accommodations, amenities, services, entertainment, programs, dining, childcare and additional family concerns in addition to suggestions for area family fun. That is so helpful! (As an example, you can see what they had to say about Trump International Hotel & Tower by clicking ?Learn more about the Preferred Family Certification for Trump International Hotel & Tower? New York?.) As a blogger, I also like to read their ?Family Blogs? section where several of my blogging friends share family travel news and tips. In any event, I definitely plan on adding the Preferred Family travel site to my list of online family travel information resources.
